Born in Raleigh NC, I have been a Carolinian all my life. I moved to Wilmington in 1989 and graduated from UNCW with a degree in Criminal Justice. For the next decade, I worked with an innovative nonprofit that supported people with developmental disabilities to live as independently as possible in the Wilmington community. As a Team Leader and Supervisor, I assisted in finding adequate housing and ensured that all federal and state guidelines were met for each individual's home and care.

I bought my first investment property (a townhome) soon after graduation. Then - after meeting my wife - we decided to buy undeveloped property out in Brunswick County in 2001 and have since turned it into a homestead for our three young children and chocolate lab. Surrounded by Venus Fly Traps on a dirt road, we grow blueberries, raise bees, garden, trail blaze through the woods, and work in our home art studio.

Still an avid surfer, I frequent all the eastern Carolina beaches but am particularly partial to Oak Island where we invested in a family beach home. The beach house has a rotating door of guests in and out throughout the year - giving me significant experience as a local property manager.

I feel that one of the reasons that the Cape Fear area is such an amazing place is because people come here on purpose. People choose to move to Wilmington and surrounding towns like Leland, Hampstead, Southport and Oak Island - they want to live here.

We got lucky when Tim responded to our request to look at a lot. We came to the Wilmington area from VA and he gave us his time for several days suggesting communities and lots. He listened to what we wanted and did not try to push anything on us. In the end we found a lot and a builder with Tim’s help and we are very happy. Tim was low key yet proactive to help us find our forever home. I would work with Tim again. You can’t go wrong working with him. Thank you Tim! Oh and he continues to follow up too!

We recently bought an oceanfront house on Oak Island. We could not be happier with our new home and Tim made it happen! He is very knowledgeable of the area and was able to steer us away from houses that would not have been right us. Once we were in escrow, he was stratigic in calmly working through all the paperwork and hurdles that come up in the process. He worked very well with the selling agent and was always professional. He is also fun and personable. I would highly recommend Tim as your next realtor.

Tim helped us find a second home on Oak Island that we are planning to use as a vacation rental as well as enjoy ourselves when not rented. He made the process extremely seamless despite the unforeseen hiccup of going through both Hurricane Florence and Hurricane Michael between the time our offer was accepted and closing. Tim has rental properties on Oak Island and has been a wealth of knowledge in guiding us toward decisions both before buying and now after purchasing our island home. I would highly recommend Tim!

We were in a unique situation, looking for a second home/potential vacation rental, and our process took close to 8 months from the day we met Tim to the day we closed. We looked at numerous houses, several with odd ownership situations. Tim always guided us with a steady hand.Finally after much searching, we put in an offer on a house, got into a bidding war, and Tim recommended we didn't go any higher. A week or so later, I got an email and a call from Tim - "this house just came on the market, it's not going to last long, you need to come see it." Even though our primary residence is 2-1/2 hours away, we went to see it that night, put in an offer the next day, and we were under contract. Then the fun began...First a hurricane and a delay in closing. Then another hurricane, and another delay in closing. Then our original lender backing out at the last minute. Finally, 2-1/2 months after we went under contract, we FINALLY CLOSED.He was so patient and helpful, and he continues to be after the sale.
